Congratulations to Kyle Barnes and his fantastic bowling that lead him to win $15,000 in scholarship money! Kyle and his family have been customers of Bowlers Advantage Pro Shops for many years. We asked Kyle to write up a few paragraphs about his experience:
"Junior Gold (Ft. Lauderdale, Florida) was a very unique experience. One I will never forget. I started out the first day shooting a 1085 for 6 games and I was thinking to myself that if I bowl like this the rest of the week I'm out. I gathered myself the second day and using the Action Max, I opened up the middle part of the lane and shot 1268 to get myself back in the hunt. I was really excited and regained my confidence after that set. The third day was looking just as good as the second day. I opened up the middle part of the lane and started scoring. I finished day three with an 1175 for a total 3528. I made the cut for the second straight year and I bowled 12 games the next day. The first set of six I shot 1150 to bump me down to 90th place overall. The next 6 games I shot 1113 and moved up to 80th place overall. This tournament taught me many things about lane play and things that I need to work on."
"The Seniors Only High School Single Championship (Eden Prairie, Minnesota) was a week I will never forget. $15,000 scholarship up for grabs and these are the best high school bowlers in the nation! The shot was really easy compared to the Jr. Gold tournament I had just bowled the week before. I had a great shot with the Black Widow from the first day of practice to the last ball of the championship match. I had the time of my life. Winning that $15,000 scholarship and having everyone come up and congratulate me and want my autograph made me feel really good. That tournament helped my scholarship fund a lot and the experience was worth while."
Kyle will be attending Pikeville College in Pikeville, KY in the fall 2006. He has attained a bowling scholarship for that college and we wish all the luck in the world while there!
